2 May 2013Screw piling technology being used at the ASB Theatre.
Smith Crane and Construction have been awarded the ASB Theatre Screw Piling contract in Blenheim. The scope of works involves supply, manufacture and installation of 91 screw piles.
The Cassagrande C60 will be used to install the four types of piles to a depth of 18m. All piles will be filled with 50mPa concrete.
15 days will be required to complete the screw pile deisng and issue of PS1, once this has been received and approved we require 10 days to fabricate and deliver to site, including 3 days to carry out the pile proving test and sufficient piles to start permanent works.
Being able to install three piles per day of the 300mm piles and five piles per day for the 200mm and 250mm piles is anticipated. This means a total of 25 working days to complete installation of all screw piles.
